    Lexa Privacy Policy

    Effective date:

Lexa is a web-based vocabulary learning app. Your learner progress is stored in your Lexa account and cached locally in your browser for performance. This policy explains what we collect, where it lives, and the choices you have.

    1. Who we are

Lexa is operated by an individual developer.

You can contact us at admin@lexafluent.com.

    2. Learner account data and local cache

Your learner progress, review history, and study preferences are stored in your authenticated Lexa learner account so they can persist across devices and sessions.

We also keep a local browser cache of that learner data to make the app load faster. You can export or delete your learner data at any time using the Privacy Settings panel on the dashboard.

    3. Optional analytics (Google & Vercel)

If you opt in to analytics, we load Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Vercel Analytics to help us understand what features are used and to improve reliability.

    • Basic usage: page views, navigation, and general engagement.
    • App events we send may include pseudonymous identifiers (for example: internal word IDs) and event parameters like feature names, timing, and success/failure.
    • If an error occurs, we may send an analytics error event that can include the error message and a truncated stack trace.

    4. Cookies and local storage

Lexa uses a minimal set of browser storage:

    • Local storage / IndexedDB cache – stores your learner cache, onboarding state, and analytics preference on your device.
    • Optional analytics cookies (GA4 & Vercel) – only set if you opt in to analytics.

You can manage analytics through our consent banner, the Privacy Settings panel, or your browser. GA4 also offers the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

    5. Sharing

    • Google Analytics 4 & Vercel Analytics (optional) – receives analytics events if you opt in.

We do not sell your personal information.

    6. Data sources and licenses

Lexa derives corpus frequency statistics from the Leipzig Corpora Collection web corpus, downloaded from Leipzig Corpora Collection.

This corpus is licensed under CC BY 4.0. Copyright © 2025 Universität Leipzig / Sächsische Akademie der Wissenschaften / InfAI.

We process and aggregate the corpus to compute frequency ranks and counts.

    7. Your choices

    • Export learner data: download a JSON export from the Privacy Settings panel while signed in.
    • Delete learner data: remove your learner progress from Lexa and wipe the local learner cache for this account.
    • Opt in/out of analytics: control whether GA4 is enabled.

    8. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the Service. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Because Lexa also keeps a browser cache for performance, protecting your device and browser still matters.

    9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time. For questions or requests, email admin@lexafluent.com.
